Last updated: February 23, 2024

Struggling to wake up in the morning? Desperately looking forward to that first cup of coffee? Don’t worry, you’re not alone!

I’ve been replacing coffee with nutritious and energizing juices and green smoothies in the mornings, and while it wasn’t easy initially, my body and mind are now very much used to it.

Starting the day with a nutrient-rich drink feels great, giving me a long-lasting instant energy boost. And coffee? I still love it, but nothing beats starting my workday with freshly made juice.

Below are seven recipe ideas for delicious and nutritious breakfast juices to help you kickstart the day.

Don’t have a juicer? Check out my list of top rated centrifugal juicers that perform well, are easy to clean, and don’t cost a fortune.

1. Naturally Sweet Lemon Ginger Power Beet Juice

7 Energizing Breakfast Juice Recipes to Kickstart Your Day (1)

I’ve learned to really appreciate the flavors of beets and often try new juice and green smoothie recipes with beets as a key ingredient.

Beets are loaded with essential nutrients such as folate, potassium, iron, and vitamin C, but most of all, they give you that instant energy boost. This is why beetroot juice is my go-to drink before I do my workouts.

Beets have a naturally sweet and earthy taste that blends perfectly with the potent flavors of lemon and ginger. The cucumber in this recipe at Inspired Taste adds mineral-rich water, keeping the flavors well in place.

There is no need to add more fruits to this recipe as the beets already bring in enough sweetness to your juice. Beets are one of the best vegetables to juice because they taste so sweet and mix well with other veggies.

Ingredients (yields 2 glasses):

  • 2 Medium-sized beets
  • 1 Medium-sized cucumber
  • 1 Small piece of fresh ginger (1 inch)
  • 1 Medium-sized lemon

2. Apple, Beetroot and Ginger Juice

The deep pink color of this energizing breakfast juice is to die for. Beetroot is certainly not the easiest ingredient to juice, as it often requires a bit of manual work.

But the nutritional benefits of this red vegetable make it all worthwhile. The added ginger gives this juice an extra flavor that works well with the sweetness of the beetroot and apples.

Drizzle and Dip have created this simple yet very potent juice recipe that you should drink slowly to enjoy. The foamy layer on top makes you think you’re drinking a bright-colored cappuccino!

Ingredients (yields 3 glasses):

  • 2 Large beetroot (approx 400g)
  • 1 Small piece of ginger (1 inch)
  • 5 Medium-sized cucumbers
  • 6 Apples

3. Turmeric Ginger Carrot Juice

One of my favorite spices is turmeric, not just because of its rich flavors but also because of its powerful nutritional benefits.

If you don’t include turmeric very often in your diet, you’re missing out on a lot of goodness. In that case, I recommend taking turmeric supplements as they can provide various benefits.

Ginger is another of my favorite ingredients to add to my juices, as it’s simply the easiest way to enjoy its benefits.

The Breakfast Criminals have come up with a very unique and tasty juice recipe that contains both turmeric and ginger, mixed with apples and carrots.

If you can replace your morning orange juice with this nutritional powerhouse drink, your day can’t go wrong.

Ingredients (yields 1 large glass):

  • 5 Medium-sized carrots (peeled)
  • 2 Apples (halved and cores removed)
  • 1 Small piece of fresh ginger (1 inch)
  • 1/8 Teaspoon turmeric

4. Easy Celery Juice

Celery juice first thing in the morning as breakfast may not be for everyone, but I love it because celery is one of my go-to vegetables at any time of day.

This particular recipe can be prepared with a juicer as well as with a blender, and with literally only two ingredients, it is as simple as it gets.

Carrie over at Clean Eating Kitchen is the creator of this nourishing, fresh, and delicious breakfast juice recipe that has fast become one of my favorites.

Ingredients (yields 2 glasses):

  • 2 Bunches of celery
  • 1 Lime (skin removed)

5. Apple Green Juice

If you like your apples in the morning, this powerful and satisfying apple green juice should be on top of your juicing to-do list.

The apples, combined with cucumber, spinach, lemon, and ginger, make this juice a nutritious powerhouse in the morning, giving you that energy kick without the crash.

Brita over at Food with Feeling is the creator of this apple green juice, and if you browse her site, you will find lots more delicious recipes.

Ingredients (yields 2 glasses):

  • 4 Medium green apples
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • 2 Cups of spinach leaves
  • 1 Inch ginger

6. The Ultimate Green Juice

It’s always tempting to throw sweet fruits in your juicer, as we all love a delicious drink with lots of sweet, fruity flavors. But we shouldn’t ignore greens as they provide us with the most nutrients.

The trick is to get the balance right between flavor and nutrients.

This super-nutritious juice recipe does indeed have all the best flavors and contains a good variety of different types of greens, such as kale, spinach, and celery, mixed up with a bunch of green apples.

I’ve tried it several times now, and it’s fantastic. The portion sizes in this recipe are big, so you can store the juice in your refrigerator for a few days.

Ingredients (yields 4 glasses):

  • 2 Bunches of (lacinato) kale
  • 2 Bunches of spinach
  • 5 Medium-sized cucumbers
  • 6-8 Green apples
  • 1/2 Bunch of celery
  • 1 Head romaine lettuce

7. Breakfast Zinger Juice

7 Energizing Breakfast Juice Recipes to Kickstart Your Day (7)

This original breakfast zinger juice recipe by Vitamix is technically a green smoothie recipe using a blender, but you can just as easily try it out with your juicer.

The rich blend of energizing fruits and veggies in this delicious drink will keep you going for many hours after you drink it as your breakfast in the morning.

The coconut water is optional but works surprisingly well with the dominant flavors of the lemons and beets.

Ingredients (yields 3 glasses):

  • 2 Cups (480 ml) coconut water
  • 2 Lemons (seeded and halved)
  • 2 Carrots (halved)
  • 2 Apples (seeded, cored, quartered)
  • 2 Beets (quartered)
